Tara Elise Hall (born December 13, 1970) is an African-American actress, model, singer, and entrepreneur.[1]

Early life and education

Hall was born in Harvey, Illinois, and raised in Chicago. She attended Whitney Young High School, the same school where Michelle Obama went, at the age of eleven for a special magnet program. During her childhood, she sang with church choirs and traveled the US singing with the Chicago Children’s Choir located in the Hyde Park section of Chicago known as the home of the Obamas.

She auditioned for the acclaimed Regal Theater for a talent show and received a callback but she did not go back. She was also approached to be a part of a girl rap group but did not proceed with this opportunity either.

Hall pressed pause on her acting and singing career and went to college. She received her bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Management from Howard University, MBA in General Business from the University of Texas at Dallas, and MS in Marketing from Johns Hopkins University.

Career

At the beginning of her career, Hall worked in various managerial and executive corporate roles and eventually started her own company, Zephvans Corporation, providing business consulting and retail products included in stores including Walmart and Amazon.

Hall found out a close friend had just released her new album and was performing at Blues Alley in DC and was inspired to rethink her love for singing. This is when she released her first album,

She started acting again on the advice of her friend, Sonja Norwood. Currently, Hall is studying acting at Richard Lawson’s acting studio and continues to work on numerous acting projects. Hall moved from Maryland to LA in May 2022. She has so far worked on a number of films and tv shows including Step Up, Envy: Seven Deadly Sins, Black Mafia Family, and Adam Sandler’s They Cloned Tyrone. Most recently she worked on Tyler Perry’s A Madea Homecoming, First Wives Club, and American Idol. Hall’s love for fashion metamorphosed into the children’s clothing line, Baby Star Clothing. [2]

Hall released her first single, If You Believe, to increasing critical acclaim. With her “I’m Every Woman,” her fan base is rapidly increasing internationally. She released her EP “Four” in 2022 and is now working on her new album. [3][4]

Personal life

Hall has a 10-year-old daughter Ava. She wrote the song Ava is a Star and Cuteness with Ava when she was just six years old.[5]
