SwissWatchExpo is a luxury watch retailer based in Buckhead, Atlanta, Georgia. The company specializes in pre-owned timepieces, and carries over 2,000 units of watches from 39 prominent brands including Rolex, Omega, Cartier, and Patek Philippe.[1]

As of 2021, SwissWatchExpo had the largest inventory of watches in a showroom among retailers in the United States.[2][3]

History

SwissWatchExpo’s founders, Jake Rokhlin and Victoria Taukatch, began as local sellers of various jewelry and watch brands in 1996. They opened their first brick-and-mortar store in 2009, at 3170 Peachtree Rd, Atlanta, U.S.[2] In the same year, the company launched their website SwissWatchExpo.com to be able to cater to inquiries from all over the United States. Today, they ship watches to customers worldwide.[2]

SwissWatchExpo is one of the very few watch retailers that owns all of their inventory.[4] It is also known for having 98% of the watches listed on their website available in their showroom. With the watches physically located in the store, customers can come in to inspect, examine, and fit them before making a purchase, while being assisted by the staff. Some of the company’s customers fly in from other cities to visit the showroom and see the watches in person, before making their purchase. [5]

Eugene Tutunikov took over as CEO in 2016, and relaunched the website soon after.[6][7] Increased focus on their e-commerce business led to 700% growth from 2016 – 2021. SwissWatchExpo is currently No. 2 among U.S. retailers of pre-owned luxury watches and in the top four worldwide.[8][9]

In December 2019, the company expanded their showroom to double its original size, and introduced a hip, industrial design. The urban-inspired feel of the showroom interiors is considered a unique among luxury watch retailers.[5][10]

To make room for expansion, SwissWatchExpo moved into a free-standing location in November 2020. The new showroom spans two floors and 7,000 square feet, located at 315 East Paces Ferry Rd NE, Atlanta, U.S.[2]

Between January and August 2021, company sales grew by 54% compared to the previous year, despite the COVID-19 pandemic.[2][11]
