Squeezeplay is the name of two fictional characters from the Transformers series. The first was introduced in 1988. He should not be confused with Cancer, who has an identical toy, but is portrayed as a separate character.

Squeezeplay is a Decepticon Headmaster who charges into battle without thinking. He detests thinking in any form and considers it weakness. His partner Lokos is a Nebulan criminal who has experience in piracy and smuggling. His sneaky nature doesn't match well with Squeezeplay's attitude. [1][2][3]

Marvel Comics

Squeezeplay and the other Decepticon second wave Headmasters were presumably with the Scorponok's Decepticons through The Transformers: Headmasters series, but were not depicted. He seemingly gained a Headmaster partner on Nebulos. His first appearance was in issue #46, called "Cash and Car-Nage!".

Squeezeplay would appear again in issue #49, "The Underbase Saga Part 3, Cold War!" In this story he was a member of the Decepticon forces under Scorponok's command. They were tricked into fighting the Decepticon forces under Ratbat's command by Starscream, who used the battle to steal Scorponok's ship and get to the Underbase.

Squeezeplay would appear again in issue #74, "The Void!" On Cybertron the combined forces of the Autobots and Decepticons were called home by the power Primus to battle Unicron. He aided in battle when a group on Unicron-possessed cultists attempted to kill Optimus Prime.

Squeezeplay appeared in issue #75, "On the Edge of Extinction!" He was depicted as fleeing at the initial sight of Unicron's attack on Cybertron.

Squeezeplay appeared in issue #79, "The Last Autobot!" He was among the Decepticon forces under the command of Bludgeon who slaughtered the natives of the planet Klo.

Squeezeplay would appear among the troops of Bludgeon attacking the planet Klo in issue #80, "The End of the Road!" Although they were winning against the Autobots, the arrival of Optimus Prime and The Last Autobot turned the tide and the Decepticons retreated.

The second wave of Decepticon Headmasters would appear in the UK Marvel comic issue #234, "Prime's Rib!" This story is set in the near future, 1995, where Optimus Prime, Jazz and Hot Rod introduce the latest Autobot, Arcee, to the human feminists. She was met with displeasure by the humans, being called a token female and disliked for her pink color. They were then attacked by Shockwave, Fangry, Horri-Bull and Squeezeplay, who thought the Autobot would be unvieling a new weapon. The Autobots fought off the Decepticons, who escaped, but nothing seemed to please the human feminists.

Animated series

Although the US animated series was canceled before Squeezeplay was released, he did appear in animated form in Transformers commercials. [4]

In Japan the character of Cancer appeared in the Masterforce series. Cancer's appearance based on Squeezeplay, although he was treated as a completely separate character.

Books

Squeezeplay appeared in Decepticons Underground, a children's book with optional companion audio cassette. It was written by John Grant and illustrated by Glenn Stewart. Although not mentioned by name Squeezeplay was illustrated to be among the Decepticons on Nebulos.

Condor Verlag

In a story called "Memories of Bumblebee" from Transformers Comic-Magazin issue #15 by German comic publisher Condor Verlag Bumblebee views a recording of Optimus Prime where he identifies Autobots and Decepticons in battle using the Ark's computer. Squeezeplay is among those he displays.[5]

Dreamwave Productions

Squeezeplay was a member of the Predacons under the command of Starscream in the second War Within series. He was present when they were raided by the Lightning Strike Coalition. Presumably this would have been before he became a Headmaster.
