Snake is a fictional character made by third-party Transformer company Headrobots in 2010. He is an homage to both an unreleased Takara Headmaster cobra toy and the G.I. Joe character Cobra Commander.

Headrobots

In 2009 Headrobots created an exclusive recolor of their Cobra Headmaster themed after the G.I. Joe character Cobra Commander.[1]

According to his tech spec readout Snake has average strength, slightly above average intelligence and above average speed.

Other G.I. Joe theme third-party Transformers include Xovergen's Grand Patriot, X-Transbots' Kobra Power Rat and iGear's Manatee.

Development

Snake was announced in May 2010.[2]

Reception

The Retro Robot Radio show for October 5th, 2013 covered Headrobots Snake and Skel-E-Tron in the news.[3]

Snake was featured in the 2013 toy reference book Transforming Collections by Philip Reed.[4]

Fictional biography

Old Snake has been providing the underworld with illicit technology and services for years, all the while waiting for his moment to strike! Now, with reverse-synthoid technology, Snake transfers his mind into a captured Head Robot. At long last, the power of the Transformers is his to weild! He has become the ultimate combination of treachery, cunning and raw power. Snake has only one goal in mind, to revive the long dead Cobra organization!

Comics

The story on the back of the card for Skel-E-Tron depicts Skeletor being transformed into a mechanical Headrobot by Snake, who is using the Key to Vector Sigma.
