Shadow Scythe is third-party Transformer accessory set made by FansProject in 2011. It is intended to be an add-on for the Classic Rodimus mold.

Shadow Scythe is a third-party Transformers set intended to be an add-on for the Classic Rodimus mold, and colored to match Shattered Glass Rodimus.

Development

FansProject this product as "Shadow Scyther" in September 2010.[1]

Although FansProject Core claims Shadow Scythe came out in December 2010, it didn't start to get delivered until January 2011.

Reception

The moonbase2 podcast for September 5th, 2010 talked about the Shadow Scythe preview as one of their topics. The hosts said it looked "bad ass" but expressed concern that there were not many Shattered Glass Rodimus toys many.[2]

The WTF@TFW podcast for September 9th, 2010 selected a picture of Shadow Scythe as one of the New Picture Picks.[3]

The Twincast podcast for January 17th, 2011 covered Protector and Shadow Scythe in the news.[4]

In the Fwooshcast podcast for December 8th, 2012 one of the hosts talked about the Shadow Scythe he recently bought.[5]

Shadow Scythe was featured in the 2013 toy reference book Transforming Collections by Philip Reed.[6]

FansProject comics

The comic book for Shadow Scythe is reads back to front, and starts out as the same comic story that came with Protector, but ends differently.

Shadow Scythe appears in the battle scene on the back of Tusker and Megazero's boxes, where he is fighting along side Shadow Commander and Quadruple U.
