Samantha Sepulveda is a police officer on Long Island, New York.[1][2][3][4][5] She was born in the Dominican Republic, moving to the United States when she was five.[6] She plans to become an agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Several years after she became a police officer Sepulveda began modeling, in her time off.[7] After several years of successful modeling an article in the New York Post triggered world-wide interest.[8][9][10][11][12][13][14][15]

Personal life

Sepulveda, her mother, and older sister, moved to the United States when she was five.[7]

Sepulveda is athletic.[7] In 2003, her senior year of high school, she earned a sports scholarship to attend the University of Massachusetts and New York state's Schloss Award for girl's lacrosse.[16][17] She earned a bachelor's degree in Management while playing on the University's lacrosse team. She was the seventh highest goal scorer in the team's history. [18] She followed up her bachelor's degree by earning a Masters in Business Administration from Hofstra University.

Sepulveda told the New York Post that, after earning her MBA, she decided to work in law enforcement, not finance, because she thought she would be more able to help people in law enforcement.[7]

Law enforcement career

Sepulveda became a Police officer in 2010.[19]

Since the media interest in her, following the New York Post profile, Sepulveda has had multiple interviews, where she has repeated that helping people, through being a police officer, will always be her highest priority.[20] Sepulveda used her interviews to share her pride in the job she and her colleagues perform, and the steps they take to take into account that their job often brings them people on one of the worst days of their lives.[6][21][22]

Fitness and modeling career

In 2013 Sepulveda appeared in a video intended to introduce, and secure funding, for a reality TV show that would have been entitled America's Next Great Trainer.[23]

In 2014 Muscle and Fitness magazine chose Sepulveda as one of the women in a photo profile entitled "America's hot girls of the gym".[24]

In her 2017 New York Post profile Sepulveda described a friend suggesting she consider accepting a gig as a model, "three years ago".[7]

The magazine Inside Fitness magazine profiled her in October, 2015.[3]

On January 22, 2017, the New York Post published an article identifying her as being a part-time model, when she was off duty, including gigs when she modeled lingerie and swim-wear.[7] Sepulveda later said that she had been working as a model for three years, and that her police colleagues were aware of, and supportive of her modeling.

Prior to the New York Post article Sepulveda had 110,000 followers on Instagram.[6] By February 6, 2017, fifteen days later, articles about her had triggered so much interest her number of followers doubled. That article triggered an interview on the Fox News New York affiliate, and a photospread in Maxim magazine, and in publications around the world.[8][9][10][11][12][13][14][15]

Volunteering

In 2019 Sepulveda played a role in a "Dream Prom Boutique", which provided free beautiful outfits for students at the high school from which she graduated.[25] The Long Island HeraldTemplate:'s reporting showed Sepulveda helping students pick out outfits. Sepulveda also volunteers for a local program that helps provide meals for lonely senior citizens.[26]

Sepulveda has volunteered her financial management skills to a sustainable energy project in Thailand.[26]

Sepulveda gives talks to high school students, encouraging them to go on to college or university.[27]
