Salem fireboat

Salem, Oregon, Oregon's state capital operates Marine 5, a fireboat, that sank during a training exercise on the Williamette River.[1][2] A passer-by recorded the last few seconds of the sinking. That recorded video was widely distributed.

Although all three crew members survived an inquiry concluded their lives had been threatened.

An explanation for the sinking has not been made public.
