Robert Terell
Robert Terell also known as The Official Dealmaker, was born on April 14, 1975, in New York, United States. He is an African American serial entrepreneur, Business Manager, financial strategist, author, and motivational speaker. Robert is best known for his work as a Celebrity Business Manager, specializing in deal brokering, brand development, business management, and monetization.[1]
Robert Terell has gained recognition for helping budding artists gain mass popularity and leverage their talents for a profitable business. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with several leading music labels such as Universal Music Group Distribution (UMGD), through INgrooves Fontana, Empire, and Universal Music Group.[2]
Robert has represented numerous artists in his two-decade-long experience which include Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Jackie's Boy, multi-platinum recording artists Soul for Real, Silkk the Shocker, No Limit Forever, J-DUB, Gunplay, Def Jam, Nancy Denise, Bad Girls Club, Harlem World, Tyler Dumont, Church Boi, and Writaz Blok, to name a few.
Apart from working in the entertainment industry, Rober is also a renowned author of three best-selling books and a keynote speaker. He is often seen at several media events, be it conferences, TV shows, or podcasts addressing the audience on the topics of strategic business development.
Early life and Education
Terell was born on April 14, 1975, in New York City. He was raised by a single-parent mother. While growing up, Robert developed an inclination towards entrepreneurship, which was fueled by his natural communication skills.
Later, he pursued a master’s degree in International Business at Fordham University. He also acquired a national certification as a Credit Consultant.
Career
Robert Terell began his career as an intern at Calliope studios in New York, where he served as the co-manager of Gunplay's (MMG/DEF JAM). In a short period of time since his debut in the music industry,[3] Terell started Wealth Nation Entertainment and got associated with the industry giants including Priority Records, Bad Boy Records, No Limit Records, and Rocafella Records to name a few. He got the opportunity to represent Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter Jackie's Boy, multi-platinum recording artists- J Dub, Soul for Real, Silkk the Shocker, AMIL, and others.[4]
Robert eventually obtained a huge music license deal with music composer-producer Def Jef approx over $3 million in order to get placement on BET's Wayans Bros Show "Next Generation Wayans, which aired in 2013. Simultaneously, he also signed a deal with a major label distribution for national recording artist Roma and a partnership with VH2 Television networks for the reality TV series-Industry Certified Journey. Soon, Robert established RMG-Rocstar Music Group by securing a second major label distribution deal with Sony Music Group via the Orchard.[5]
Robert created Industry Certified, a multi-media organization that provides unique online content to a global audience, in August of 2019. Industry Certified, within two years, has extended into other media platforms, such as radio and television. In 2020, Robert began motivational speaking with Live Legendary with the aim to encourage his listeners and take the right steps while starting their businesses. He is also the founder of American Music Network, exclusive brand loyalty, and a national membership network that aims at helping independent artists advance their careers. His most recent project, Business Certified PR, launched in late 2020, was designed to meet the public relations demands of customers in the entertainment industry.
Throughout his career, Terell has held various key positions in the industry, including Vice President of A&R with IMG Records, and Executive Vice President of Corporate Affairs/Strategic Partnerships for HYPE Magazine and THM Media. As of 2021, he is working as a Regional Director for South Regional Markets for Bungalow/Universal Music Group Distribution.
Apart from that, Terell also runs a non-profit organization called Faith Champions, which promotes a faith-based lifestyle and helps people support the talents of their peers. He is also the author of three best-selling books titled TGIM: Thank God It's Monday!: The Journey of an Entrepreneur,[6] Broke and Famous: The Music Game,[7] and Level UP: The Business of Music and Entertainment.[8]

Robert Terell is the father of four children named Derek, Niles Alexander, Brock Thomas, and Madelyn. He likes to spend as much time as possible with his children.
