Roar is a fictional character and third-party Transformer homage to Generation 1 Snarl made by Toyworld in 2014.

Toyworld

Roar is a third-party Transformer who turns into a robotic stegosaurus. He is an homage to the 1985 Transformers character Snarl.

Other third-party Transformers inspired by Snarl include FansToys Sever, Gigapower Guttur, JustTIoys Desert Warrior Snarl and Keith's Fantasy Club Bladeback.

Development

Toyworld first posted toy images of their Sludge and Snarl homage on their web site in July 2014.[1] He was scheduled for release in September.

Roar was released in October 2014.

Reprolabels released a set of stickers for Roar in April 2015.

Reception

The Retro Robot Radio podcast for August 2nd, 2014 covered the teasers for Toyworld's Orionvil, Sludge and Snarl homages, as well as the second release of Hegemon in the news.[2]
