Rashad McCrorey born 2nd of November, 1979 is an African-American Activist, Entrepreneur, and Writer. Born and raised in Harlem, New York. Rashad McCrorey is known for bringing hundreds of African-Americans as first time visitors to various counties in Africa. He accomplishments also include beinbg Modern Ghana newspaper’s first African-American journalist, writing in the Diaspora, Lifestyle, and Opinion sections of the newspaper.[1][2]

Beginning

Rashad’s first organized human rights event was the December 13, 2014 Justice for all March on Washington where Rashad organized students from Drew University to join the National Action Network to a rally in Washington, DC where thousands protest to the recent deaths of unarmed African American men at the hands of police. [3] while at the march on Washington The Hill interviewed Rashad where he disclosed that this was his third rally in three days in his third different state. [4]

Positive impact

Three weeks after the march Rashad made his first trip to the continent of Africa visiting the country of Ghana. Ghana had such a positive impact on Rashad’s life, he withdrew from school for one semester to return to Ghana where he came up with the idea to start a tourism company to bring other members of the African Diaspora to Ghana with the intentions of the country having the same positive effect on others as it had on him. Writer at Modern Ghana

January 2020, he became Modern Ghana’s first African-American journalist, writing in the Diaspora, Lifestyle, and Opinion sections of the newspaper. [7]
