Oliver Gu is a Chinese Canadian marketing specialist and search engine optimization trainer who is the president of Golden Vision Training.[1] He is also a lecturer at Tsinghua University's International EMBA Program.

Biography

Born on 26 June 1970 in Suzhou, Jiangsu, China. Oliver graduated from the school of foreign languages at Soochow University (Suzhou) in 1993.

Initially, he worked as salesman at Bamboo Grove Hotel later became the head of hotel training.

In 1996, Oliver went to East Lansing, Michigan for his Master of Business administration degree at Eli Broad College of Business at Michigan State University where he graduated in 1998 with his first Master of Business Administration.

Between 1999-2002, Oliver studied at Bridgewater State University and received his second master degree of Computer Science in 2002.

Oliver built his first website in 1996. Later, he started trading at eBay in 1999, received eBay top-rated seller recognition letters from then eBay chief executive Meg Whitman and since then has been marketing online. He has extensive work experience as logistics and international trade professional working for companies such as UPS and Canadian National Railway between 2000 and 2008.

Oliver has been an inspiring speaker in various seminar and his Saturday free seminars on ecommerce]], digital marketing and sales have attracted over 50,000 people all over the world. He has also delivered seminars on topics such as internet marketing, direct selling, personal development, and financial freedom. He also has appeared on Toronto Talent TV Entrepreneur series. Currently, he teaches digital marketing sales certification courses.

Since Oliver has started teaching, he has trained thousands of business owners and students in partnership with Toronto Victoria International College.

In 2012, Oliver Gu was awarded by Toronto Talent TV as Canada’s Most Favored Family and Individual Entrepreneur.

In 2015, he was appointed as the e-commerce guest lecturer by Tsinghua University's International EMBA Program.

Between 2016 and 2018, Oliver has organized five ecommerce and digital marketing summit meetings between China and Canada. One of the summit meeting held in November 2017, Canada-China ecommerce and High-tech Summit, was attended by more than a thousand people.[2]

Family

Oliver is married to Mary Wang.[3]
