Nutrition for Change (NFC)

Enrich Bangladesh Through Nutritional Knowledge

Established: 17 May, 2023


Mission Statement: Nutrition for Change is dedicated to promoting nutrition education, raising awareness, and advocating for healthy dietary practices, with the goal of effecting positive and lasting changes in individuals' health and well-being.

Vision Statement: Our vision is to create a world where everyone has access to accurate nutrition information, understands the importance of a balanced diet, and is empowered to make informed choices for their health.

Goals: 1. Education and Awareness: Provide accessible and evidence-based nutrition education programs and resources to individuals of all ages, empowering them to make informed decisions about their dietary habits.

2. Advocacy and Policy: Advocate for policies and initiatives that support healthy nutrition practices and address systemic issues related to food access, affordability, and quality.

3. Community Engagement: Foster partnerships and collaborations with community organizations, healthcare providers, schools, and other stakeholders to promote nutrition awareness and implement community-based interventions.

4. Research and Innovation: Support and facilitate research initiatives that contribute to the advancement of nutrition science, including the evaluation of dietary interventions, the exploration of new nutritional approaches, and the development of innovative solutions for nutrition-related challenges.


Membership:

1. Individual Members: Open to individuals interested in nutrition and committed to the organization's mission and goals.

2. Corporate Members: Open to companies, institutions, and organizations involved in the nutrition, health, or food industries that align with NFC's objectives.

3. Student Members: Open to students pursuing studies or research in nutrition or related fields.

4. Honorary Members: Distinguished individuals recognized for their significant contributions to the field of nutrition and/or support for NFC's mission.


Governance Structure:

1. Board of Directors: Composed of elected members responsible for the overall management and strategic direction of NFC.

2. Officers: Elected by the Board of Directors, including a President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer, who hold specific responsibilities and serve for a designated term.

3. Committees: Established to focus on specific areas of interest, such as education, research, policy advocacy, or community outreach. Committee members may include both Board members and general members.


Meetings:

1. Board Meetings: Regular meetings of the Board of Directors held at least quarterly to discuss organizational matters, review progress, and make decisions.

2. Annual General Meeting: A meeting open to all members, held once a year, to provide updates, share achievements, and allow members to provide input and vote on key matters.


Finances:

1. Funding Sources: NFC will seek funding through membership dues, grants, sponsorships, donations, fundraising events, and partnerships with relevant organizations.

2. Financial Management: A Treasurer will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing budgets, and providing regular financial reports to the Board of Directors and members.


Amendments:

Proposed amendments to the organizational details shall follow a defined process as outlined in the organization's bylaws, requiring approval from the Board of Directors and a significant majority vote of the general membership.


Dissolution:

In the event of NFC's dissolution, any remaining assets shall be distributed to one or more nonprofit organizations or public entities with similar missions, as determined by the Board of Directors.


Bylaws:

The Board of Directors will develop and establish bylaws that outline additional operational guidelines and procedures for the effective functioning of NFC, including membership categories, voting procedures, committee formation, and other relevant matters.
