Biography and career
Ngoc Huy graduated with a major in Tourism Service Management from Van Hien University, but Nguyen Ngoc Huy (Huy Otis) has a different direction compared to his peers. That is becoming a statue sculptor The reason for saying goodbye to the tourism industry to pursue a career in making spiritual statues, he did not consider it a goodbye because for him, the tourism industry was the path he had to take to come to the profession of statue making. Without the days of studying and leading tours to many landscapes, Ngoc Huy would not know the myths associated with the gods and national heroes. Each time he narrates to visitors is a time when Ngoc Huy cultivates his admiration and gratitude to the gods and ancestors who have contributed to the country and made the shape of the country as it is today. These stories initially aroused in him pride and gratitude, but then inspired him to seek new directions to satisfy his passion for spiritual culture and spread the spirit. This comes to the community. Along with that, he realized that many large and small communal houses across the country were still worshiping gods, saints and national heroes with tablets. From there, he came up with the intention to embellish their appearance after learning the legends, data about the dynasty and the habits of each.
Having difficulty in career
The direction is not related to the tourism profession, so Ngoc Huy also has many difficulties. Initially, he imported goods from domestic and foreign establishments, then decorated and embellished. After having a stable number of customers, Ngoc Huy boldly self-produced to be able to meet the diverse needs of customers as well as create his own mark. He said that this time was very difficult because there was no one to guide him, he had to tinker with his knowledge of history, learn to draw, paint and choose the right materials. Future
Nguyen Ngoc Huy said that his current income is enough for him to develop his profession and expand his customer network. In particular, thanks to his products, many customers in the domestic and foreign mother worship community have known and strongly supported this work. In the next 5 years, Ngoc Huy intends to continue to develop the statue production business. He hopes to create statues with different appearances in the pure Vietnamese direction and open more branches in Ho Chi Minh City and other provinces.
