Nassima Begum

Nassima Begum is a citizen of the United Kingdom who describes being brought to Syria by her husband, in 2012.[1] Begum told reporters her family arrived in Syria two years before Daesh was founded. She said her husband wanted to live in among other muslims, and had originally planned to take her and their children to Saudi Arabia, but changed his mind to Syria, at the last moment. She said she knew nothing about Syria, at that time, and couldn't even point to it, on a map.
Begum said that as a dutiful wife she had no say in the decision to leave the United Kingdom.[1]
