Mobile suit

In the Gundam franchise, mecha are referred to as mobile suits and depicted as bipedal combat vehicles designed for the purpose of war. In contrast the mecha portrayed in super robot media, in the Gundam universe, they function in a similar manner to that of modern day vehicles, and lack the mystical properties of super robots(there are, however, exceptions, such is the case with Mobile Fighter G Gundam and Turn A Gundam).

I, myself, have created several Gundam headcanons, which features non-canonical suits based on existing Gunpla, namely the HGBF 1/144 Super Fumina and HGBF 1/144 Hyper Gyanko.

My current headcanon, dubbed the Virtual Angel Side, features mobile suits, and their depictions differ considerably from the primary source material. Here, they are of realistically smaller scale and are no bigger than an ordinary vehicle. However,(as this headcanon is set in a virtual construct), they possess the seemingly god-like abilites boasted by super robots, as they are capable of performing implausible feats (i.e; instanteaneously repairing any damage substained or manifesting projectiles). The suits which prominently display these traits are the NTU-000EX Type-S "Sarah" and the OTU-00YMS-R Gyaank,(which has been augmented via organic material).
