Michael Goodboe was an American sailor and mercenary.[2]

After he retired from the Navy Goodboe decided to become a mercenary, and was hired by the Central Intelligence Agency, which employed him as a clandestine fighter in Somalia.[2]

The Intercept reports Goodboe was the first American fighter to die in Somalia since Blackhawk Down.[3]
