Mercenary is a fictional character and third-party Transformer homage to Generation 1 Shrapnel made by FansToys in 2016.

This toy should not be confused with Dr. Wu's Mercenary kit, an add-on for Age of Extinction Hound.

Development

Mercenary went up for preorder in May 2015, with an expected release date in December 2015.

Mercenary was on display in the dealer room at TFcon USA 2015.

Mercenary was released in January 2016.
