He is also a founding partner and board member of Leaders in Oncology Care (formerly called London Oncology Clinic). His h-index is 56, per Google Scholar.[3]

In 2005, Dr. Slevin co-founded the London Oncology Clinic (LOC), which now has seven clinics with more than 70 oncology specialists.[4] In 2010 the Hospital Corporation of America (HCA) took over the LOC and the name was changed to Leaders in Oncology Care.

Cancer research

While working as a consultant medical oncologist at St Bartholomew’s and Homerton Hospitals, Dr. Slevin founded and directed a clinical pharmacology laboratory investigating schedule dependency of Etoposide in small-cell lung cancer.[5]

He also conducted research on the clinical pharmacology of cytosine arabinoside[6] and performed early research on morphine’s major active metabolites.[7] Dr. Slevin also conducted research on attitudes to chemotherapy amongst cancer patients.[8]

Dr. Slevin also supervised several doctoral thesis.

Cancerbackup and Cancer Research Campaign

In 1985, Dr. Slevin assisted Dr Vicky Clement-Jones to set up the cancer charity Cancerbackup, and was the board chairman from 1987 until 2008. In 2008, Cancerbackup merged with Macmillan Cancer Care. Dr Slevin was a trustee of Macmillan Cancer Care from 2008 to 2010.
