Manterror is a fictional character in the Transformers series. He is an Predacon quick attack specialist who turns into a giant praying mantis.

Fictional biography
The maniacal Manterror may seem awkward in appearance. But he's a skilled fighter with devastating quickness in both robot and insect battle modes. Having the power of flight and equipped with razor-sharp raptor claws, he activates internal stealth silencers to strike from the sky like a sizzling bolt of proton lightning. In robot mode, he prefers to launch his devastating ion discs, which don't stop spinning until they've sliced through a targeted enemy's external armor. As he always says, "To face Manterror, is to face defeat!"
IDW Publishing
Manterror was among the troops of Magmatron in the Beast Wars: The Gathering series. He worked alongside fellow Predacons Razorbeast, Spittor, Iguanus, Transquito and Drill Bit. Before leaving for prehistoric Earth, Manterror was reformatted into a giant praying mantis. Magmatron's plan was to use the abandoned stasis pods on prehistoric Earth to build an army and take over Cybertron. Upon arrival, Magmatron sent Manterror and the others to watch over the stasis pods as they were activated. Manterror witnessed the birth of Snapper. As it turned out, Razorbeast was a Maximal spy. Magmatron sent his new Predacon army to hunt down the Maximal and his band. During the conflict that followed, Manterror got his face smashed by Wolfang. In the first issue of Beast Wars The Ascending Manterror lead Retrax and Snapper in a distraction against Maximals while the other Predacons planned to attack their enemies. Armordillo, B'Boom, Bantor, Buzzclaw, Cybershark, Lazorbeak, Manterror, Optimus Minor, Powerpinch, Ramulus, Razorbeast, Retrax, Scuba, Sky Shadow, Spittor, Stinkbomb and Terragator were wounded in battle and left on Earth. Together they fought and defeated the Blendtrons Drancron, Elephaorpha and Rartorarta. Although Razorbeast survived the battle he was infected with Rartorarta's maddening sting and had to be put down by Optimus Minor to stop him from attacking his allies.
