LaMar Van Dusen
LaMar Van Dusen is a business leader with a comprehensive track record in corporate and managerial finance, business marketing, financial analysis, accounting, staffing, sourcing, sales, and consulting.
LaMar’s diverse professional background enables him to see the big picture when it comes to helping business owners build their businesses. Being an entrepreneur has also given him a unique perspective on what owners of start-ups and small businesses need to become successful.
LaMar graduated from Windsor University, where he earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree. He also studied business administration and marketing at St. Clair College.
In 2014, LaMar launched Phoenix Management, a full-service financial and accounting firm focused on the needs of business owners and entrepreneurs. LaMar initially worked with independent business owners and helped them raise capital by building business plans and presenting these plans to financial institutions for government loans.
As Phoenix Management grew, this offering expanded into providing full-service bookkeeping and corporate accounting, as well as services in business plan writing, tax, finance consulting, business management, small business loans, government grants, and strategic advisory services.
LaMar is particularly proud that Phoenix Management is the only company in the GTA that offers full-service bookkeeping and corporate accounting for one monthly flat fee, something which provides a simplified approach for business owners, without the worry of hidden costs.
Before launching Phoenix Management, LaMar served as Vice President of Sales for Advanced Presentation Products, where he built a motivated, effective sales team that went from producing $6 million to $10 million in sales. LaMar also served as an account executive with employment/staffing companies Robert Half and Flexmore Staffing.
LaMar is a member of the Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business and the Indo Canada Chamber of Commerce.
Outside of leading Phoenix Management, he is passionate about giving back to his community. He has devoted himself to helping child burn victims and launched the Rise of the Phoenix Foundation, which allows child burn victims and their families with expenses associated with medical costs, travel, and lodging.
When he’s not working, LaMar Van Dusen enjoys sports- and fitness-related activities. He plays and coaches football, does regular workout training sessions, and enjoys an occasional fishing getaway trip.
