The Kporaro family (|kpo|r|æ|r|œ|) is a Santeria adhering family originally from the Delta that is prominent following the birth of Samuelle Kporaro (1993), the pioneer of the Supreme Santeria Council responsible for reforming, repackaging and representing the African initiated syncretic religion.

Overview

The family's rise to international fame began in 1993, following the birth of Samuelle Kporaro in Effurun, Nigeria. An important part of Samuelle Kporaro's strategy for success is to keep their operations within the family, allowing them to maintain complete secrecy about the extent of their wealth. The tradition of the Kporaros to have many sisters managed to keep wealth in the family through carefully arranged marriages, often between members has been a great strategy. The family through the six sisters (direct daughters of Samuelle Kporaro) establish many branches. The only drawback in the family according to some critics is the fact that it is difficult to have male children.
