He locked hisself in a room and spent hours every day learning to play, reading stacks of old guitar magazines and theory books. With all the hardships experienced at that time, playing guitar and music, naturally, became an obsession and escape for him. He lived, worked, and played in local bands in the Tampa, Bay area where he experienced some difficult years; until around 2003-2004. At that time he moved to Augusta, Maine, to play in the band Necropia. This would be where he would meet his girlfriend of 16 years, which they are still together today. In 2008 he moved to Jacksonville, Florida to play with the band Cystic Dysentery where he spent 9 years working with the band. In recent years Jim has released a huge collection of albums and music spanning multiple genres, and has traveled around the world performing in Portugal, Mexico, New York, Chicago, etc.
