Jhoel Lopez is a Dominican TV journalist.[1] On June 9, 2019, Lopez, Sixto David Fernandez and David Ortiz, a former star player with the Boston Red Sox baseball team, were at the Dial Bar and Lounge in Santo Domingo when Rolfi Ferreira Cruz opened fire on Ortiz. One of the bullets that passed through Ortiz subsequently injured Lopez in the leg.
