Personal life

James Ashford graduated from Sheffield Hallam University with a Master’s Degree in Product Design. Immediately following his graduation, he was recognised by the Design Council of Great Britain as being one of the 50 most innovative entities in the UK. Ashford went on to teach Art and Design in universities and prisons, where he set up art foundation courses.[4]

Ashford then worked across different design disciplines before founding his first company in web design. He then worked as a business consultant across several industries, specialising in sales, marketing and the systemisation of businesses.[2]

Afterwards in 2016, Ashford co-founded GoProposal, which is a privately held British web application company based in Manchester, England.[5] The company was co-founded alongside Paul Barnes to provide pricing and proposal software to the accounting industry.[6]

In addition, Ashford was a close-up magician for over 15 years and a member of Hull Magician’s Circle, and is also a black belt second dan in the martial art Goshinkwai.[2]
