Granite is a fictional character from the Rock Lords series introduced in 1986. He is the leader of the heroic Rock Lords.

Development

Granite appeared in the 1986 Tonka's World of Entertainment catalog in an alternate color scheme.

Animated series

Boulder first appeared in the 1986 film GoBots: Battle of the Rock Lords among the of heroic Rock Lords on the planet Quartex.

Comics

Fun Publications

Granite appeared in the Fun Publication story Echoes and Fragments. In the amalgam reality created by Sideways and Gong, Boulder and the Rock Lords filled in for Wreck-Gar and the Junkions during the events of The Transformers: The Movie.

IDW Publishing

Blurr drives past Spearhead, Nuggit, Brimstone, Boulder and Granite in "Devisive"

Boulder, Brimstone, Granite, Nuggit and Spearhead had a cameo appearance among the Non-Aligned Indigenous Life-forms Blurr drove past on Cybertron who appeared in IDW Publishing's Transformers: Robots in Disguise issue #4 story "Devisive".

Tonka

Granite appeared in the 1986 Tonka pack-in comic story "Powerful Living Rocks Face a Deadly New Peril".

Toys

• Tonka Rock Lords 7500 Granite (1986)

Turns from rock to Rock Lord. The US release comes with a red "Power Sword" rifle, while the European variant came with a gray rifle.

This mold was released in slightly different colors as Machine Robo: Revenge of Cronos Battlerock by Tonka, although the Battlerock charachers in the Bandai animated series were colors more like Boulder than Battlerock.

• Bandai Rock Lords Granite (1986)

Although the toys were identical for the North American and European releases of Boulder, the packages were different. The US version was released by Tonka and only mentioned the brand as Rock Lords, where the European version was released by Bandai and credited the Rock Lords as a part of the Robo Machines GoBots series.
