Fauzia Khamal Bacha
Fauzia Khamal Bacha travelled from Melbourne, Australia to Daesh occupied Syria with her husband, Yasin Rizvic, and their four children, in 2014.[1][2][3] Bacha, Rizvic, and their eldest son, died in Syria. Their three survivng children, aged 6 to 12, were repatriated to Australia, following the collapse of Daesh, in 2019.
Bacha is from Singapore, Rizvic was born in Bosnia.[1] Australian authorities have not made clear whether they acquired Australian citizenship, but their three surviving children are Australian citizens.
Rizvic has been described as a "foreign fighter".[4] Whether Bacha travelled willingly to Syria has not been made public. Nor has her role, if any, in supporting the Daesh regime. Australian authorities have not made public the names, or location of their children.[2]
