Dr. Mohana Rao Patibandla

Dr. Mohana Rao Patibandla is a renowned neurosurgeon and the founder and CMD of Dr. Rao's Hospital, a state-of-the-art facility for brain, spine, and nerve care in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh. He is the only neurosurgeon in the world who has trained in every subspecialty of neurosurgery, including minimally invasive skull base surgery, pediatric neurosurgery, neuro-oncology, functional and stereotactic radiosurgery, and endovascular and cerebrovascular medicine. He has received several awards and accolades for his excellence and innovation in the field of neurosciences, such as the Brain Lab Neurosurgery Award from the Congress Of Neurological Surgeons and the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, USA. He has also been awarded "the best neurosurgeon and spine surgeon" by Leaders Award. [1]


Early Life

Dr. Patibandla was born and raised in Dronadula, Prakasam District, Andhra Pradesh, in an agricultural family that valued education and community service. He completed his MBBS from Andhra Medical College, Visakhapatnam, in 2002, and his MCh in Neurosurgery from Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS), Hyderabad, in 2013. He then pursued further training in India and abroad, acquiring several fellowships from prestigious institutions in the USA. He has trained under eminent neurosurgeons such as Dr. John Jane Jr., Dr. Jason Sheehan, Dr. Min Park, Dr. Mark and Chris Shaffrey, Dr. Lee, Dr. Chun-Po (University of Virginia), Dr. Edward Oldfield (University of Virginia), Dr. Daniel Prevedello, Dr. Jeffrey Leonard, (Ohio State University and Natio wide Children's hospital) Dr. Michael Handler, Dr. Todd Hankinson (University of Colorado Denver) and many others.[2]


Dr. Patibandla is passionate about providing holistic and compassionate care to his patients, using the latest technology and techniques. He is also actively involved in research and teaching, contributing to the advancement of neurosciences.
