DesignBro
DesignBro is an Irish-Dutch online graphic design marketplace that connects high-quality clients and pre-vetted designers from all over the world.[1] Of all designers that apply to work on the platform only 5% have been approved. This ensures that customers receive the top quality of design that they are looking for. DesignBro brings affordable & high-quality design services in a seamless experience. The company was founded in 2016, and has offices in Cork, Ireland and Amsterdam, The Netherlands.[2]
History
DesignBro was founded by Christiaan Huynen and Pieter-Jan Hoogendijk, and was incorporated in June 2016.[3] The company launched its first version of the platform November 2017. DesignBro is a next generation online marketplace focused on curation, and the focus tends to be on quality rather than quantity.[4]
With 1000+ customers, the company has 98% customer satisfaction rate which itself speaks about the design quality delivered to the customers.[5]
Typically online platforms tend to get started by people specifically focused on technology, they have an easier time reimagining an industry, as they don’t need to overthink the model from the inside out. DesignBro’s founder, Christiaan Huynen, on the other hand, is a third generation Design Agency owner, and believes the industry is ripe for disruption.[6]
Financials
In July, 2020 the company successfully raised nearly €400,000.[7][8] The amount, which was considerably higher than aimed, via private investors and partly via Dutch angel investor platform Leapfunder.[9][10]
