The Prince of Masserano is a noble title created in 13th of August 1598 by Pope Clement VIII for Francesco Filiberto Ferrero-Fieschi, marquis of Crevacuore. During the year 1767 the lands of the principality passed to the King of Sardinia, with the princely family retaining only the hereditary titles. In 1854 the hereditary prince of Masserano, Carlo Emanuele Ferrero-Fieschi’s son Tommaso died without an heir, so the title passed to his nephew Mario Matteo Ferrero-Fieschi who had six children, and moved with his family to the Greek island of Corfu. The current dynastic heir and prince of Masserano is George Marios Theocharopoulos di Ferrero Fieschi, marquis of Crevacuore. He inherited the titles when his grandfather, Dimitrios Triangi Ferrero-Fieschi died in 2016.
