David N. Peterson (born February 7, 1990) is an American Internet entrepreneur, start-up adviser, licensed real estate agent, and former music executive who is currently the COO of WordAgents. Throughout his career, he’s worked at the intersection of marketing, technology and operations, finding creative ways to just make things work successfully.

Early life

Peterson was born and raised in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. He is of French-Canadian and Swedish descent. He attended public schools in Pawtucket, Rhode Island including William E. Tolman Senior High School.

In his younger days, Peterson worked a few entry and mid-level retail positions. He joined White Noise Records in Providence, RI as an intern in 2006. From a young age, Peterson was enthralled with business and the opportunities that entrepreneurship lent itself to. Peterson completed his senior year of high school and first year of college at the same time through a program established in collaboration with Bristol Community College. He attended Johnson & Wales University for almost a year before transferring to IADT so that he could work full-time at a brand new-startup company in Pawtucket, Rhode Island.

While working in the start-up company in 2008, he became enthralled with business and decided that he was going to eventually pursue a career in entrepreneurship. Peterson continue working for the company for the next three years (2008-2011) where he honed his business acumen and skills while completing his Bachelor's degree. He decided that he wanted to move into remote work in late 2011, so he started his search for a business that he could join and work remotely with.

Peterson joined software and technology conglomerate Trilogy Software in late 2011 through their subsidiary Versata Software, where he served as an operations manager on the global mergers and acquisitions team.

Career

David N. Peterson has vast experience in working with several leading technology companies and their platforms, he started his professional career in 2008 as assistant general manager of National Maintenance, a nationwide facility services company powered by proprietary technology. He remained with National Maintenance until 2011, where he was hired as a global operations manager for Versata Software, a Trilogy Software subsidiary. He continued garnishing his experience in enterprise technology and created an extensive background in sales, marketing, and operations helping small businesses through enterprise grade clients listed on the Fortune 500, Fortune 100, and Global 1000 lists.

In 2012, joined newly formed Aurea Software (Trilogy Software subsidiary) aftering acquiring four pieces of divested software from Progress Software as Manager of Global Channel Operations under Aurea's Chief Technology officer. A year later, he was elevated to overseeing all of Channel Marketing globally for Aurea's global channel business unit. Peterson eventually laterally moved over to a another newly formed venture Crossover for Work (Trilogy Software subsidiary) where he served as an advisor on digital marketing strategy to the CEO Andy Tryba.

In January of 2022, David N. Peterson joined WordAgents as it's Chief Operating Officer to oversee the business and help it's founder's strategically scale the business globally well into the future.

David N. Peterson speaks at industry events and podcasts on the topics of sales, marketing, operations, remote work, and entrepreneurship.

Other ventures

David N. Peterson advises and consults start-ups, entrepreneurs, and small-to-mid-sized companies across a number of different industry verticals.

He is a licensed real-estate agent in Rhode Island and Massachusetts.

He is also a board member of Total Mom, Inc.

He is in the midst of considering obtaining a law degree.

In addition, he’s pursuing admission to the National Basketball Player’s Association as a registered player agent for the 2023 season.
