I knew who Barry White was while my peers were still focused on Justin Bieber and Jaden Smith. I listened to Diana Ross and Gloria Estefan, and people wondered why I always had an 'old soul', Damarea joked in an interview with Next Generation in 2018. Damarea has a three octave soprano range. Her vocal range is equivalent to Beyonce and Flora Batson. Her music is also loved for her clean runs and transitions. Courtney Chavez said,

"Your voice had everyone in that auditorium during your performance shaking with shock that you were that young singing that well. Every time you open your mouth to sing, you make history.

Personal Life Damarea was raised Roman Catholic , but opposes the church's stance on homosexuality and LGBT rights. She said in a 2020 interview,

"Love is love. The bible states to love one another. Never was there a specific gender tied to the concept. The sin is upon those who hate those who love one another, same gender or not.'
