Damarea Ogbuewu
Damarea Leah Ogbuewu (/ˌdːamˈɑːneə ˈog-deeu)ː/;born August 8, 2005) is a Nigerian-American model, singer, songwriter, author, former elite gymnast poet, actress and dancer. She made her international writing debut in China's Artist Association in December 2021. Over the span of five years, Ogbuewu has written three short children's books, appeared internationally on Chinese television, won eight literary arts awards, and served as the first American to win all-round competitions in CAA.
Raised in Columbia, South Carolina, Ogbuewu began her gymnastics career at the age of nine before a minor injury at age eleven. At age of twelve, Ogbuewu participated in her first school-wide literary arts competitions, which led to her state-wide event. In 2017, she joined the events leading to her attempt to enter the international world-wide Chinese competitions. Achieving her goal at age 16, Ogbuewu is now the first African-American and native of the United States to achieve this recognition.
