Dai Atlas is the leader of the Autobots in the anime series Transformers: Zone, which was cancelled after one episode, but continued in printed form in comics.[1] Dai Atlas can transform into a jet mode, to land mode with a drill-honed tank and into a base to accommodate the Autobot Micromasters.

Animated series

Following on from Transformers: Victory, the mysterious three-faced insectoid being, Violenjiger dispatches the nine "Great Decepticon Generals" - Devastator, Menasor, Bruticus, Trypticon, Predaking, Abominus, King Poseidon, Overlord and Black Zarak - to acquire "Zone Energy," destroying the planet Feminia to obtain the world's store. Caught in the destruction of the planet, Victory Saber is rescued by Dai Atlas. On Earth he and Sonic Bomber are confronted by Devastator, King Poseidon, Predaking, and Trypticon. In an underground fight Dai Atlas tosses Devastator into magma, but he and Sonic Bomber are nearly killed by Trypticon when they are protecting the Zone Energy. Taking a risk, Dai Atlas releases the energy, which powers him and Sonic Bomber up to the point where they're able to effortlessly kill the Decepticons. Dai Altas is appointed the new Autobot commander at the conclusion of the episode.

Manga

Although "Zone" would prove to be the last animated Japanese-exclusive Generation 1 series (comprising of just one episode OVA), Dai Atlas returned briefly in the Battlestars manga, which followed up Zone. Under attack by the forces of the mysterious Dark Nova, Atlas entrusted Sky Garry and his Battlestars with the task of resurrecting the greatest Autobot of all: Convoy/Optimus Prime (to return later as Star Convoy), even going so far as to appoint him as temporary Supreme Commander.

Comics

Dreamwave Productions

Dai Atlas would receive an unusual reference in issue #10 of Dreamwave Productions' Generation One series - their last before going out of business. In Megatron's flashback he describes discovering a cavern in a forbidden zone on Cybertron, which revealed that the history of the Transformers was far different than previously thought. One of the statues over the entrance seen is clearly Dai Atlas, with the other being Deszaras.

Transformers Animated

A bust of Dai Atlas appeared in Master Yoketron's dojo as a member of the Elite Guard Cyber Ninja Corps in the Transformers Animated episode "Five Servos of Doom" during a flashback of Prowl's training during the Great War. Transformers Animated: The Allspark Almanac II later revealed that Dai Atlas took on the task of rebuilding the Cyber Ninja Corps following Yoketron's death, with Drift proving a particularly troublesome student; however, Ultra Magnus was confident his old colleague's ability to succeed.
