The Crusaders is a third-party Transformer team created by MasterShooter Collectibles in 2013.

MasterShooter Collectibles

The Crusaders are third-party Transformer homages to three Targetmaster partners from 1987.

Up Close is "The Maker of Peace", Buzz Kill is "The Sure Shot" and Pin Point is "The Sniper". Despite being named in promotional material, the individual members of the Crusaders are not named on their packaging.

Development

Renders of Up Close, Buzz Kill and Pin Pointer were posted to the MasterShooter Collectibles Facebook page in January 2012.

The Crusaders were released in June 2013.

Reception

The Good Morning, Cybertron! podcast for January 16th, 2012 discussed renders of the Crusaders and Leader Destruction Squad in the news.[1]

The Good Morning, Cybertron podcast for June 3rd, 2013 discussed the Leader Destruction Squad and the Crusaders in the news.[2]

Fictional biography

The Crusaders are extremely loyal to the Leader of the Automated Robots. They see him as a robo-messiah due to his unending willingness to lay down his life to save his people and constantly resurrecting. His orders are to be followed to the letter. If you ask them anyone who disagrees and refuses to follow him are heretics that need to be punished. They are robots of justice on a mission to thwart evil wherever they find it. The L.D.S. (Leader Destruction Squad) hate to see them on the battlefield. Not just for their awesome firepower, but because of their preaching of the good news of the resurrection of the Leader.
