Chris Lace
Christopher Owens (born April 29, 1981), known professionally as Chris Lace, is an American entertainer, singer-songwriter, actor, cameraman, manager, and business executive who is known for being the founder and CEO of the talent management company Money Time Management.
Early life and education
Lace was born and raised in Shreveport, Louisiana. He was raised in a musical family, as his father was part of a singing group that would perform on a street corner close to Booker T. Washington High School in Shreveport. Lace credits his father as his first major musical influence, along with his friends’ R&B group, Profyle, whom he learned music from after school. As a child, he also cultivated his artistic interests by joining school plays and art contests. He was also active in athletics, participating in football and track and field.
Lace graduated from Northwood High School in 2000.
Career
Lace began his career in the industry working as an artist manager, vocalist, actor, and cameraman for local filming crews.
Lace was featured on the 2001 single “Work Dat Thang” by a local hip-hop group from his neighborhood. He went on to arrange and direct projects with other underground musicians throughout his musical career. In 2005, he released his independent underground mixtape, The Mixtape Files.
In 2015, Lace formed Money Time Management, a talent agency and media production company producing film and music content.
Lace is also active as an educational motivational speaker and humanitarian.
Personal life
Lace has three siblings. He is in a relationship and has one child.
Aside from music, Lace’s hobbies include art, cooking, reading, and visiting coffee shops.
