Reception

Breez was named #5 on the list of "20 GoBots That Remind Us Why the GoBots Sucked So Incredibly Hard" by Rob Bricken on gizmodo.com in 2013.[1]

Abilities

Breez has numerous abilities because of his robotic body. He does not age, can survive in space and is super-humanly strong and tough. He can turn into a helicopter. He can fly in helicopter mode. Thanks to GoBot upgrades provided to him by Cy-Kill, he can fire blasts of energy from his hands.

Fictional biography

When Breez takes off, he swirls a foul wind that blinds all those within range. He's a dirty fighter and has a mean streak that even the Renegades have learned to respect. He's a renegade in every sense of the word.

Animated series

Commercials

Although Breez and his companion Wendy's exclusives did not appear in the Challenge of the GoBots animated series, they did appear together in a 1985 commercial for Wendy's restaurant.[2]

Comics

Fun Publications

Breez was mentioned in the Fun Publications 2015 Ask Vector Prime Facebook series when it was hosted by Cy-Kill. It is revealed Breez was a member the Instigation Mini-Con Team from the Aurex universal cluster (Unicron Trilogy) recruited by Cy-Kill as part of his Renegade army in Axiom Nexus.

Cy-Kill thinks Breez has anger management issues, which he is happy to exploit and also thinks Breez would get on well with Stallion or Bad Boy.

When the TransTech authorities attempted to arrest Cy-Kill he called his new Renegade troops into action. Cy-Kill ordered Gong transport the Renegades away.[3]

In his new Facebook series Renegade Rhetoric, Cy-Kill chronicled his return to "Level 1", his home universal stream, just as the Guardians were staging an attack on Rogue Star. Cy-Kill and his Renegade recruits from Axiom Nexus joined Fitor, Spoons and Stretch in repelling an attack by Courageous, Leader-1, the Guardian Command Centers and the new Guardian Academy graduates Beamer, Guide Star and Sky Fly. During the battle Monsterous was able to best Courageous and tore though the Command Centers, but a ploy from Leader-1 tricked Cy-Kill into unleashing a massive blast which struck Monsterous, shattering the combiner into his components.

Breez was featured in the 2016 Ask Vector Prime story Echoes and Fragments, set during the events of The Transformers: The Movie. The manipulations of the evil Gong and Sideways resulted in various GoBots swapping places with characters during the events of that film. Vector Prime dodged Breez and Pow Wow as they guarded an entrance to Cybertron's interior.[4]

GoBots Color and Activity Book cover

Breez appears in the 1986 Golden Press story Ambush in Space. In the story the Guardians decide to take a vacation on one of the resort planets. They take the Command Center and their first stop on a refueling planet, but after taking off their engines conk out thanks to micro dust in the fuel placed by Cy-Kill. The Command Center is drawn to the planet Fintergand by an electromagnet operated by Cy-Kill. Once forced to land Pow Wow attacks Scooter, but his attack is deflected by a boulder thrown by Sky Fly. Cop-Tur attacks Leader-1 with rust rockets, but he tricks the rockets into following him to Cy-Kill. Cy-Kill gets hit by the rockets and rusts in place. Pow Wow attempts to ram Beamer, but Beamer flies out of the way at the last moment, causing Pow Wow to hit Odd Ball instead. Breez attempts to hide from the Guardians in a crater, but Guide Star and Sky Fly shoot "obmug" into the crater. The Guardian GoBots sing their victory song.[5]

Wendy's Kids Meal

Breez and Oddball were among Cy-Kill's troops in the 1985 story "Moonstrike", a comic strip published on a Wendy's Kids Meal box.
