GoBots

Blades is an evil Renegade GoBot who first appeared in the Challenge of the GoBots animated series. His design seems to be based on a recolor of the toy for Night Fright.

He should not be confused with the Transformers character Blades, who is a heroic Protectobot helicopter, or the monster GoBot Bladez.

Animated series

In "The Gift" Blades was called to Earth by Cy-Kill as reinforcements, to help capture the alien Aloric and finish off the Guardians. However, when the alien regained his staff, he transported Blades to the moon along with the rest of the Renegade force.

Comics

Echoverse

Blades was featured in the 2016 Ask Vector Prime story Echoes and Fragments, set during the events of The Transformers: The Movie. The manipulations of the evil Gong and Sideways resulted in various GoBots, Rock Lords and Starriors swapping places with characters during the events of that film.[1]

Rhetoricverse

Blades appeared in the Transformers: Renegade Rhetoric episode 35 story "Trash and Treachery". In the story Blades and Psycho were sent to look for Zero and the Master Renegade. They found their targets in a UNECOM warehouse, but then were attacked by Turbo and Smallfoot.[2]
