Known for producing and directing a version of Pride & Prejudice set in modern times.

Rebecca Gleason is a American film director.[1] Her first film, Molly, a short, won the LACMA Young Directors award. Her first feature film, Summer '03, premiered at the 2018 SXSW film festival.

In 2021 Netflix announced they had agreed to fund Gleason to produce and direct a new version of Jane Austen's Pride & Prejudice, from her own script.[2] The film, to be titled The Netherfield Girls, will be set in the present day, and will star 19-year-old Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, as Lizzie Bennet.
