Ba Wang Long is a third-party Transformer homage to Generation 1 and Age of Extinction Grimlock. He combines with his team members to form Ares.

The name Ba Wang Long is Chinese for Tyrannosaurus Rex. It can also be interpreted as "the king dragon".

A version of the toy in the colors of Age of Extinction Grimlock were released under the name Gang Ba. This toy was called Steel Tyrant on the Jin Jiang Toys web site. The name Gang Ba is probably from the Chinese gang, for hard, and Ba is a misspelling of pa, which is a mistranslation of tyrant.

Other third-party Transformer homages to Generation 1 Grimlock include Keith's Fantasy Club King Rex.

Renders of the TFC Toys dinosaur combiner toys were posted to ACToys message board in June 2011.[1]

The Star Rescue Team dinosaur combiner was released in May 2014 by Jin Jiang Toys.
