Andromeda is a fictional character from the Micronauts series introduced in 1977. He was the Star Stallion partner to Baron Karza. He can turn into a wheeled horse. He can also combine with Baron Karza to form a centaur or wheeled centaur.

Andromeda is the horse (or Star Stallion) partner of Baron Karza int he Micronauts series.

Development

The toy for Andromeda was first developed as Panzeoid for the Steel Jeeg series.

The Andromeda toy was designed by Iwakichi Ogawa and was filed for US patent in 1977.[1]

In 2018 several parts for Andromeda were release by Shapeways by Mathew Robert Ignash.

1979 Marvel Comics

Andromeda never appeared as an individual in the Marvel Comics Micronauts series, although Baron Karza did appear in centaur form.

2018 Micronauts Protectors of Inner Space

Baron Karza appeared in centaur form on the cover of issue 23 of the Micronauts Protectors of Inner Space art series.

  • Mego Micronauts Andromeda (1977)
A recolor of Takara Panzeroid.
This toy shares most of his molding with Oberon and Megas. He was remolded with a new head into Lantaurion and Pegasus. This mold was also recolored into Star Knights Metallion, Steed and Vigilante.

A release of the Mego toy in France by Pin Pin Toys.
  • Palisades Micronauts Baron Karza with Andromeda (2002)
Released as a set in a variety of colors including black/red, clear/black and translucent red/black. The black version also featured silver chrome colored hooves, hubcaps, neck and tail on Andromeda.
Palisades also produced a rare gold Baron Karza and Andromeda set as a gift to say "thank you" to certain members of the Yahoo! Groups Micropolis Embassy mailing list for all their help in the series 1 production.
