Personal Life

Business - especially in the age of AI where starting and doing everything is getting easier and easier - is based on the 2 things that technology and AI in particular will never be able to truly get a grasp on.

Early Life

1. Brand. Connection. Community. People

Those 4 terms strongly relate to each other and are build on a foundation of human emotion and especially our personal track record of creating positive emotion in others throughout the course of our lives - and on the other site also allow others to create emotion in us.

Those connections, the community, the people and the branding you send out and receive strongly correlate with the second element being the most important pillar to building not only a successful business, but living a happy, successful and fulfilling life:

2. Unique & real Character built on personal experience and vision.

A lot of people would simply point out creativity as our difference, but for me this feels too limited. Creativity from „Create“ has etymological commonality with „Characterize“ and Character, so essentially the definition of a thing, in this case ourselves.

Career

We as humans are the sum of our experiences. Experiences containing so many facets, levels and emotion that complexity is too weak of a word to point it down. However this „Us“ is the essential pillar - and its nucleus is created in our childhood and teenage times and will hardly and rarely change - and the value of it can’t be given enough attention and importance since character is this main point and differentiator throughout our lives.

Without wanting to start a whole work on this topic, I come to sum up that businesses and especially startups require people that are different and unique to be successful - outliers with the little extra - people different, happy and able to play the game, get fucked and keep going, because character and obsession and as such intrinssic motivation is on a different level.

People with character. People like Jobs, Adam Neumann, Travis Kalanick or the mentality of people like Ferdinand Piêch or Ray Kroc.

I am such a character. I got told that all my life, and for years - especially in my childhood and teens - I often wished I could be like anyone else - only the older I get and the more technology starts dominating our lives, I come to realize the value of me being so different.
