Barbara Ambas Forteza, born July 31, 1997 and professionally known as Barbie Forteza, is a multi-talented Filipino actress, comedian, dancer, singer, host, and vlogger. She has been recognized with numerous accolades, encompassing both international and local awards.

Early life

Barbara Ambas Forteza entered the world on July 31, 1997 in Biñan, Laguna. She is the daughter of Imelda and Tony Forteza and has a sister named Gabrielle Vierneza.

Career

Barbie Forteza's distinguished roles include playing young Jodi in GMA Network's adaptation of the 2003 South Korean TV drama series Stairway to Heaven and Cyndi Gomez in First Time. Forteza has also starred in several movies such as Tween Academy: Class of 2012, The Road, and the indie film Puntod, for which she won New Movie Actress of the Year at the 26th PMPC Star Awards for Movies. In April 2013, she launched her self-titled album Barbie Forteza under MCA Records, featuring the single Meron Ba which was utilized as the theme song for GMA Network's Koreanovela Big.

In 2014, Forteza was selected for a lead role in the TV series The Half Sisters, co-starring Thea Tolentino.

August 2014 saw her winning the Best Supporting Actress award in the new breed category at the 10th Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival for her role in Mariquina. In this film she portrayed a teenage version of Mylene Dizon's character Imelda.

Barbie Forteza received the Best Actress Award at the 36th Fantasporto International Film Festival in 2016 for her portrayal of a sea gypsy in the indie film Laut. This film was also showcased at the Pune International Film Festival.
