Damarea Leah Ogbuewu('DeeDee', Simplified Chinese:文涵; born August 8,2005), better known in China as Chen Han is an American influencer, model, singer-songwriter, poet, author, and motivational speaker. She is now, as of 2021, the first African-American to win an international competition in China, specifically the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, which was founded in 1949. Ogbuewu placed second, overtaking four time winner, Ying Chang Compestine. She performed in three categories, one of theatre, one of music, and the third of writing.


Early Life

Damarea Leah Ogbuewu was born in Columbia, South Carolina to an American mom , and an African dad. Her mother is a physician and her dad was a consultant. Through her father, she claimed Nigerian decent. Her father immigrated to the United States in the year 2000 from Greece after traveling from Nigeria. She was given the nickname Hui (Clever, intelligent)because of her intellect and creativeness and Her younger sister came two years after her. Han was raised in a town called Irmo until she moved to Shanghai, China at the age of four. Since then, she recalled becoming an exchange student to foreign countries. During this time, she learned three languages fluently, later learning her fourth language. She attended Pine Grove Elementary School for two years, and then attended Concordia International School Shanghai until the year 2015 when she moved back to South Carolina to attend a school in Columbia. In 2019 she attended Dutch Fork High School in Irmo South Carolina and then Dreher High School in 2020 before moving elsewhere for school.


Breakthrough: Entertainment Industry

In 2020, Ogbuewu signed with a film company in Africa, which led to her breakthrough in the acting industry. She was announced as the lead of the nonfiction film, A Promise in Africa, (2021) of the role Yemi Adeyemi. The movie took place in Nairobi, Kenya. In 2021 Sony announced her as the first African-American female lead of The Karate Kid franchise. Two months later, she left the cast of the movie. In April, it was implied that she was the newest member of K-Pop group, Blackpink, which initially had four members. She later debunked those claims with no further information.

Personal Life

Relationships

Ogbuewu has been very private of her romantic relationships if any at all. She became friends with her high school classmate, Leigh Jeffcoat whom attended Dutch Fork High School with her in her freshmen year. In February of 2020, it was understood that Ogbuewu and Jeffcoat were not friends anymore. "Don't give her any energy. It's a very bad move in an attempt to attain attention.", Ogbuewu said of her ex-friend in August of 2020.

After landing the role of her first TV role in Korea, she was rumored to be dating Yeo Heo-hyun

Artistry and Music

Ogbuewu released many songs before a Christian Contemporary song released in 2020. She deleted some before releasing songs, 'Pom Pom' and 'Space' IN 2021 when Ogbuewu changed her name to Chen Han, she was credited in 'Rare Twin Flame'.
