Serena Deena (Irene Konsolou) is a singer, songwriter, dancer, and actress.[1] She rose to fame since the release of her debut album “Sold Out” in May 2020 followed up with the single “Drip” feat, Young Frenchy 808 which was hot enough to make heads turn.[2]

Early Life

Irene was born in Cyprus into a musical family, she performed in various TV shows and national dance competitions as a child.[3]

Education

When she was 18 she moved to London to continue her studies with a full three-year scholarship in London Studio Centre graduating with a B.A (Hons) in Theatre Dance specializing in Musical theatre. While at college, she performed in the Wembley Arena for the Wembley Champions League and appeared as a principal dancer in a music concert at the Olympic stadium in Greece. A year before she graduated she won the TV show "Dancing with the Stars" in Cyprus appearing in semi-finals and finals.[4]

On her graduation showcase, she performed at the Criterion Theatre in Piccadilly Circus where she sang a cover song; "Falling" by Ghost! under the direction of her vocal coach Matthew Shaw ( Jessie J, Pixie Lott). [1]

Career

She continued collaborating with a metal band Jade Vine recording cover songs " Black velvet", "What's up", "Crazy" at Mill Hill music complex when she finally debuts her first-star role appearance as "Wendy" in Disney's Peter Pan the musical tour in Cyprus where she released the original track "Bedtime story". That same year she performed as featuring singer and actress in Oliver Twist the musical. Both musical performances were produced and composed by Mic Roussos(Agatha, Good morning Aphrodite). In 2016 she attended a Singing & Songwriting course in Point Blank Music College and functioned her own band to record "Umbrella" and "Highway to hell" in Octopus music studios. A collaboration with musicians from ACM, LIPA, BIMM, and Tech music school.

Her aim was to bring students from all music schools together and tour as a band in the UK. Whilst at college she collaborated with Dj EDMto for the single track "Under your skin" and Michal Lorca Vavrinec for the track "Love pill".[5]

At the same time, she performed backing vocals at Abbey road institute for her vocal coach and Grammy award winner Phil Ramocon (Ninah Cherry, Bob Marley, Cher Lloyd).

Later, the same year a talent scout spotted her on youtube and directed her to independent record labels BuzzinB records run by Robert Boswell, Ajang Entertainment run by Jermaine Forde (Aswada, Julian Marley), and Aerial Manor Music owned by the underground house tech and trap producer Raul Bane.

Serena started recording her first pop/ rock EP album "Rollercoaster" mastered by Riley Urick(Lady Gaga, Christina Aguilera)and Sefi Carmel(David Bowie, Phil Collins). Alongside she also ventured into other genres, such as EDM, tech house, and trap in “Dolls Gone Kill” EP album.

She is the founder of GRIIM Ltd, her fashion brand founded in February 2020. Responsibly sourced and handcrafted women’s clothings are designed at every stage and comes with removable and interchangeable accessories to multiply your looks.[6]
