China is a socialist republic in east Asia. China is a one-party socialist republic, with the Communist Party of China (CPC) as the ruling party. The country is governed under the leadership of the President and the General Secretary of the CPC. Mandarin, or Standard Chinese, is the official language of China. It's based on the Beijing dialect and is spoken by the majority of the population. China also has several other languages and dialects due to its regional diversity. [1]
