Mou Modhubontee, a Canadian-Bangladeshi poet, storyteller, lyricist, poetry reciter, stage performer, and host of live stage shows, is well-known. Mou Modhubontee was born in the district of Noakhali. She works for a nonprofit organization as a project facilitator at the moment.
Mou Modhubontee Known for her experimental approach, Mou Modhubontee is an avid writer who delves into the essence of humanity in her works. Her primary inspiration for writing poetry stems from her profound love for humankind. Beyond her literary endeavors, she actively engages in community activism and is a member of the global climate change movement. Rather than embracing feminism, she advocates for humanism. Her writings span both Bengali and English languages.
The spiritual lyrics of Mou Modhubontee have become well-known worldwide, and they have appeared in prestigious books like the American Anthology and Cross Variety Canadian Anthology. She is the executive director of the poetry recital group Lolitokontho Shworoshoilir Nondon Bondhoni. She also serves as the editor of Khelaghor Pata and KobitaUtsab Online, a monthly publication of Bengali poetry. In addition, she is in charge of the moderator of the KobitaUtsab Poetry Recital Programme online.
Even though she lives far away from her hometown, Mou Modhubontee has dreams and a particular place in her heart for Bangladesh. The red sun that rises every day in Bangladesh keeps her passion alive. She led a group for Bengali poets at the 45th Buenos Aires Book Fair in Argentina in 2019 and urged them to transcribe their works into Spanish so they may be sold in Latin America by 2020. In 2019, she also participated in the Odyssey International Festival held in Romania. She is a member of NABLS, USA, and was the Co-Coordinator of the Bishwa Bangla Sahitya Somabesh in the USA in 2021. She also coordinates cultural events for the Panorama International Literary Festival and is President of the Bangladesh Righters Club Canada. Mou Modhubontee has received numerous awards for her social and community activities.
