Biography

Shadman Sakeef, born on January 1, 1999, in Dinajpur, Bangladesh. He is a passionate environmentalist, content writer, and blogger. His journey began during his formative years, driven by a deep concern for the planet's well-being. As he grew older, he channelled this passion into formal education, pursuing a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) in Environmental Science and Disaster Management at Daffodil International University.

Shadman's commitment to environmental causes extends beyond textbooks and lecture halls. He actively engages in various initiatives to raise awareness and drive positive change. Shadman participates in seminars, workshops, and conferences focused on climate change. His goal is to educate others about the urgency of addressing environmental challenges, especially in the context of Bangladesh—a country vulnerable to rising sea levels, extreme weather events, and other climate-related impacts. Shadman Sakeef embarked on his educational journey at Ramdubi Hat B.L High School and College in Dinajpur, where he distinguished himself by earning his SSC (Secondary School Certificate) in 2016 with an impressive CGPA of 5.00 out of 5. Driven by a passion for the sciences, he continued his academic pursuits at Lions School and College in Saidpur, completing his HSC (Higher Secondary Certificate) in 2018 with a commendable CGPA of 4.17 out of 5.

Eager to deepen his knowledge and broaden his horizons, Shadman moved to the vibrant city of Dhaka. There, he enrolled at Daffodil International University (DIU) to study Environmental Science and Disaster Management (ESDM). He completed his B.Sc. degree in April 2024. Shadman’s academic journey is a testament to his dedication and commitment to making a meaningful impact in the field of environmental science.

Leadership and Beyond Academics

Shadman Sakeef has demonstrated a strong commitment to environmental advocacy and leadership through various roles and responsibilities. From May to November 2021, he served as a member of Team Bangladesh for The Earth Needs Love, Pakistan, where his expertise in communication, public relations, and social media was pivotal. His duties included blog writing and maintaining contact with multiple organizations. As a Campus Ambassador and Team Coordinator for Eco-network, Dhaka from June 2020 to August 2021, Shadman excelled in event planning and coordination, leadership, and HR. He launched, managed, and organized various programs, maintained communication between team members, and marketed and promoted these initiatives.

In addition to these roles, Shadman has been actively involved in multiple other capacities. He served as the General Secretary of the Executive Committee for the DIU Blood Donors Club (DIUBDC) during the 2023-24 term. His volunteer efforts at the National Physics Olympiad 2022 and his role as an organizer and speaker at the International Youth Conference 2021, which focused on ecosystem restoration from a South Asian perspective, further exemplify his leadership. This conference was a collaborative effort between Eco-network Bangladesh, Eco-network Sri Lanka, and The Earth Needs Love Pakistan. Shadman also contributed as a certificate designer for the World Environment Day Summit 2021, organised by the Department of ESDM at DIU.

Achievements

Throughout his academic career, Shadman has demonstrated exceptional dedication and leadership. In 2023, he was selected as a delegate for the 18th United Nations Climate Change Conference of Youth (COY18), highlighting his commitment to global environmental issues. His involvement with the Eco-Network earned him the title of Most Dedicated Member in November 2020, reflecting his proactive engagement in environmental advocacy.
