Mike Weisend (ship, 2011)

The Mike Weisend is a large tugboat operating on the Ohio River.[1] She was launched in August 2012. She is named after the manager of AEP River Operations.

The vessel is powered by 2 3,000 horsepower diesels.[1] She is 166 feet long, and 45 feet wide, and displaces 766 tonnes.

The Weisend is operated by AEP River Operations, a subsidiary of American Electric Power/[2] The firm operated 90 tugboats and 3,200 barges.

Weisend operates mainly on the Ohio River, towing barges of various kinds of bulk cargo, including iron scrap, coal, concrete, and other bulk construction material.[2] The vessel is staffed by a crew of nine.
