Vroom is a fictional character from the Transformers series. He is a heroic Autobot Pretender introduced in 1989.

Vroom is an Autobot Mega Pretender.[1]
Fictional biography
A drag racing daredevil. Learned his trade blowing up enemy fuel depots in the Asphalt Wars on Cybertron. Armed with two exterior 3000 rounds-per-minute ion pulse guns and magnetic repeller rifle. Also wields mind-altering illusionizer that distorts optic impulses. Transforms to rocket car made of rubber-coated armor that deflects and ricochets enemy shell fragments. Outer shell cycle equipped with oil slick and smokescreen ejection mechanisms, retractable tire spikes, hydraulic jumpers in suspension system, and rocket boosters in rear that provide short-term flight capabilities. Combines with rocket car to form super cycle equipped with digital fuel gauges and micronized turbo injectors.
Reception
Vroom was named the 21st top unfortunately named Transformer by Topless Robot. [2]

Vroom appeared in animated form in the commercial for Mega Pretenders.[3]

Vroom appears in the 2012 BotCon Invasion lithograph by Casey Coller and Josh Perez.[4]
In Tranformers Invasion Vroom is among the Autobots in Japan who help get people to safety from an Earthquake caused by Shattered Glass Ultra Magnus using the Terminus Blade.[5]
Vroom appeared in Another Light where he was among the mixed Autobot and Decepticon team stationed at the Ironworks base on Classicverse Earth. The Shattered Glass Primus attacked the Earth, Gaia teleported the humans and human looking Pretenders away.[6]
In Of Masters and Mayhem, now living on a parallel Earth, the Autobot Pretenders took to disguising themselves in completely human forms and living among the humand. Spike Witwicky, Elizabeth, Crossblades and Vroom moved to the Yucatan as they investigated a radio burst that had been detected in the area. They were visited by Metalhawk.[7]
IDW Publishing
Vroom appeared in the IDW Publishing The Transformers: Spotlight on Arcee as a warrior under the command of Fortress Maximus on the Garrus-9 penal facility.
