The following was first posted on the Renegade Rhetoric Facebook page on December 17th, 2015.

Dear Cy-Kill, What have you been up to since returning to Level 1? Has anything you learned in Axiom Nexus helped you to finally crush the Guardians?

Cy-Kill: Would a Renegade as cunning as myself fail to take advantage of any opportunity? Following a brainstorm I had on this very forum, I wanted to be able to not just match Courageous on the battlefield, as Monsterous allowed me to do, but utterly pulverize the Last Engineer's abomination. Fortunately, I had just the weapon in mind.

Firstly, I initiated a diversionary attack on the Super Bowl, designed to draw in a large Guardian response. While those imbeciles were busy, I dispatched Heart Attack and Clutch to GoBotron via Space Hawk. There they liberated some "special cargo" from a Guardian storage facility, blasting Dumper and Night Ranger in the process.

Back on Rogue Star, hidden in the volatile Nietsneknarf region of space, everything was working swimmingly. My two new recruits had recovered the remains of Puzzler, my first attempt at a combiner warrior. The first time, it had failed due to the need to operate it remotely, but I had something special up my sleeves. During my time in another dimension, I had managed to obtain six strange positronic energy matrices. My experiments proved that, when confined within a laser containment field, they were capable of providing an animating essence to crude machine life. One by one, each Positronic Animus Device was inserted into the forms of my six sports cars. I then extended Rogue Star's Stellar Fulminator Rod, which caught a flash of Space Lightning and brought my six newest warriors to life!

It soon became apparent that the PADs had done more than just give life. Somehow, they also gave each member super powers. Naturally, I couldn't have been more happy. Tic Tac, the leader, gained Super Intelligence. Pocket, the right arm, gained Super Karate speed. Crossword, the left arm, gained the Super Strength of six ordinary GoBots. Jig Saw, the torso, gained a Super Disguise ability. Rube, the left leg, gained a Super Sense of even the slightest tremor in the ground. And Zig Zag, the right leg, gained Super Speed. Even better, in their combined form, Puzzler had access to each of the individual component's Mighty Skills.

The time had come to defeat the Guardians once and for all. I chose a target they couldn't resist, the Liberty Bell in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I specifically had the members of Monsterous unite and visibly approach the city from the west, to draw in Courageous. Meanwhile, I had Tic Tac and his team hide on the east side of the city in their vehicle mode, so that Courageous could be surrounded and destroyed once and for all.

Lamentably, the Guardians had realized what was in the warehouse my troopers had raided, and anticipated our tactics. The Guardians had split their forces and deployed them all over the city, each team tasked with disabling or capturing at least one member of the Puzzler team. Tic Tac and Jig Saw were able to elude Van Guard's pickets, and Crossword and Pocket managed to handily trounce Man-O-War's men. Rube and Zig Zag didn't fare as well, running into Wrong Way's squad. Though Zig Zag was fast enough to avoid them, Rube's Super Sense didn't help him against the combined firepower of Defendor and Good Knight.

Monsterous grappled with Courageous as planned, but when only five of the six members of Puzzler showed up I was furious. I ordered them to combine anyway, but not only were they missing a leg and forced to hop about in a ludicrous fashion, but their ability to combine their Positronic Animus powers was short-circuited by their missing member. A squad of Guardian Boomers blasted both of my combiners to their components, and I had little recourse but to order a retreat.

Despite this temporary setback, I still have both Puzzler and Monsterous. With my superior firepower and devious intellect, it's only a matter of time before I turn such advantages into a decisive victory. Mwah ha ha ha ha!
